20th century. Many companies are embracing the Internet, since it provides a cheap and easy way to operate their business. As the world transitions from traditional brick and mortar businesses to e-businesses, or even national businesses that we can only judge from a website, the consumer and provider relationship must change as well. Unfortunately, while the Internet has a lot of benefits, it also has some downsides. One of these is that it isn't always clear what is real on the Internet. Many consumers have heard stories of people being scammed or tricked over the Internet, and some may have even been victims themselves.

29 Prime does not only operate on the Internet, but many of our clients only get to see our website or online reviews. We realize that many consumers are afraid of Internet scams, who isn't? Here we have outlined some tips to help our consumers recognize scams before it is too late, so that they can run their business at its most profitable level.

10 Tips for Avoiding Scams-

1. Most importantly, always use common sense and follow your gut!

2. Ask for proof! Can the company show you examples of projects they have worked on in the past? (This is also a good way to check the quality of their work.)

3. Be wary of companies that only accept payment through cash or PayPal. Paying with credit cards does give you a bit of a safety net so that you can get your money back if necessary.

4. Check out their website! Do they have phone numbers? Contact information of any kind? A legitimate address? Check for information that would hold them accountable.

5. Do your own research. Do other reputable sources mention them? Have newspapers published articles about the company?

6. Do your own research. Do other sources mention them? Have newspapers or magazines published articles about the company?

7. Analyze the professionalism the provider shows. Does their correspondence have misspelled words, A LOT OF CAPITALS, and excessive punctuation???? If so, they probably don't run a professional, let alone legitimate, business.

8. Ask for references. Reputable companies will want you to talk to other pleased companies or will have additional information to send you. If a company does not offer anything other than a basic website, it should be apparent that they don't have a great product or service to offer either.

9. Know that no one can offer you the top spot on search engine results, although it is possible to offer more general placement- like being on the front page. If you are being offered something that seems too good to be true, it probably is.

10.Of course, always follow your gut!
